The Federal Government has commenced the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles across the country.
Programme Director of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), Michael Oluwagbemi, disclosed this on Thursday.
He said about 530 buses are to be deployed to the six pioneering states by the end of the month.
The pioneering states are Oyo, Lagos, Kwara, Kogi, Kaduna, Nasarawa and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Oluwagbemi, who spoke at an event signalling the commencement of 15-day-long activities ahead of the rollout, said the distribution is on a demand-led basis.
He added that efforts would be accelerated towards the conversion of diesel and petrol engines to CNG across the country.
