The Accord party in Oyo state has said it will appeal the judgment that upheld the victory of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner in the April 11, governorship election.
The party said it remains dissatisfied with last Tuesday’s Tribunal ruling that dismissed its candidate’s petition, against the governor of the state.
Describing the judgment of the Mohammed Mayaki-led tribunal as a travesty of justice, the Accord Party Spokesperson, Hon. Adeolu Adeleke, told journalists at a press conference that the tribunal favoured the APC as the Governor had earlier boasted of victory against Ladoja.
He thanked Accord Party members for their peaceful disposition so far and admonished them to continue to be law abiding.
APC spokesperson, Wale Sadare, said that it was unfortunate that the Accord Party members have remained sore losers.
He expressed disappointment that the party has decided not to move on despite Governor Ajimobi’s call for the opposition’s cooperation.
Sadare said that as much as an appeal remains the statutory right of any aggrieved person or group, the APC was undaunted.
He expressed confidence that they would again win the appeal.
