The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as well as the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) have been indicted extensive forensic audit report submitted to the Federal Government by audit firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
Summary of the full report submitted to President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday, February 2, was made public on Thursday in Abuja by the Auditor General of the Federation, Mr. Samuel Ukura.
One of the recommendations in the report is that the NNPC would have to refund $1.48 billion to the federal government.
The federal government contracted PWC in March last year to investigate allegations of financial impropriety within the NNPC after Former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi raised an alarm that $20m was missing from the corporation’s coffers
