A former member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and delegate to the National Constitutional Conference, Honourable Missa Bobbo has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment for possession of illicit drugs.
The former lawmaker was convicted for possessing 81.9 kilogrammes of Indian hemp
Delivering judgement, Justice Balkisu Bello Aliyu of the Federal High Court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State said that the involvement of the former legislator in drug trafficking was shameful.
Bobbo was member, House of Assembly in Adamawa State, representing Leko-Koma constituency between 1991 and 1993 and also a member of the national constitutional conference in 1995.
Apart from the dried weeds of Indian hemp found with him, fresh plants of the drug were also harvested from his farm.
