The University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Foursquare Gospel Church have moved against Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, the UNILAG lecturer caught on camera making sexual advances ata 17-year old female admission seeker.
The lecturer, who has now been suspended indefinitely by UNILAG, was exposed in a video by BBC Africa Eye where an undercover journalist, Kiki Mordi, disguised as the admission seeker.
Dr. Igbeneghu was a head pastor in a local Foursquare Gospel Church as and when the scandal broke but in a statement issued Monday evening by the National Secretary, Rev Ikechukwu Ugbaja, the church said it has asked him to step down from all ministerial assignments, promising to take “appropriate measures” as soo as investigations were concluded.
“The general public is hereby informed that as a holiness and Bible-believing Church, we do not condone such heinous and unscriptural act among our ministers,” the church said.

“We totally dissociate ourselves from the purported conduct of Dr. Igbenoghu and promise to take appropriate measure as soon as the ongoing investigation is concluded.
“Meanwhile, the pastor in question has been asked to step down from all ministerial assignments.

The management of UNILAG has also set up a panel to investigate the incident. Igbeneghu, is a former sub-dean of Faculty of Art, UNILAG.
