Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) have taken over the Lagos venue of the #FreeSowore protest.
Newspeakonline had ealier reported how security operatives stormed SaharaReporters office in Ikeja, Lagos.
Confirming the presence of security agents at the meeting point of the protest, Seni Ajayi, who is the convener of Coalition for Revolution (CORE) movement told SaharaReporters that the police and other security agents are trying to prevent the protest from holding.
He however vowed that the protesters would not be discouraged from going on with the action.
“The Police are at the CDHR Secretariat, Right House, but that is still where we are going, it is our building,” he said.
The police had on August 19, sealed off the venue of a symposium organised by the movement and arrested some journalists and bystanders but later released them.
