Ahead of the 2023 governorship election, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Friday, announced the names of members of his campaign council.
Makinde, who is seeking a second term in office, made the announcement during a meeting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants and candidates in the state.
The governor re-appointed Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Bayo Lawal, as the Director-General of his 2023 campaign council.
Other members of the campaign team include Dr Nureni Adeniran, Deputy Director-General (Oyo South); O.O Tope, Deputy Director-General (Oyo Central ); and Barr. Adeniyi Farinto, Deputy Director-General ( Oyo North).
Salami Ibraheem, popularly known as Dikko, is the head youth wing, while Mrs Toyin Balogun will head the women wing.
Makinde also directed the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, to reinstate political appointees who resigned and lost the primary elections to their respective positions.
The governor added that he would soon announce replacement for his aides who won their primary elections. He also announced Wale Ajani as the new Oyo State Liason Officer in Abuja, replacing Olayemi Busari.
He assured that he would also ensure fresh appointment to fix all the vacant positions in the government, stressing that party members including aspirants who lost out in the primaries won’t be left out in the scheme of things.
“There are a lot we can do in government, we are going to engage people in various positions and we wil make sure everybody is happy,” Makinde said.
