The number of ministers and deputy ministers so far appointed by Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has gone up to 110 after new appointments announced on Wednesday.
The ministries of Information, Energy, Agriculture and Local Government will each have three deputy ministers, if the latest appointments are proved.
Responding to critics who accuse the government of running an “elephant size” government, Information Minister Mustapha Hamid said: “We never promised a lean government”.
He said the size of the government was necessary to assist the president’s ambitious development agenda.
Mr Akufo-Addo, from the New Patriotic Party, was elected on his third attempt to reach the post, after a campaign dominated by the country’s faltering economy.
