Arrangements have been concluded for the 20th anniversary of the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths (Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba), formerly known as the National Council of Yoruba Youths.
Some of the activities lined up for the event, scheduled for September 23, 2021 include 10th Yoruba youth leadership summit, Ijala, Ekun iyawo, Rara, Ewi, Quiz, dancing competition aming others.Â
A statement on Thursday by Comrade Awa Bamiji, the Aare Apapo (President General) of Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths), said carefully selected personalities across the states of the federation have been nominated for the beautifully carved Odu’a (Ori Olokun) awards.
The theme for the leadership summit is, ‘Osun, Ekiti 2022: Bibori Ipenija a ti mu Idibo yi je ategun rere fun idibo apapo Odun 2023.
Immediate past governor of Osun State and Minister of Interior,  Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and Mr Dare Babarinsa, Publisher, Gazkia Magazine, will be the speakers at the summit.Â
“The purpose of this important lecture is to prepare the ground for the peaceful conduct of 2023 general elections using the forthcoming governorship elections in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States as models of approach,” Awa said.
Chief Pius Akinyelure, a member of the NNPC Board and oil industry technocrat will be the chaiman of the event while Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede (JMK), a June 12 activist and freedom fighter is the vice chairman at the occasion.Â
Special Guest of Honour is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu while Guests of Honour are the governors of the six South West states.
Father and mother of the day are Prince Tajudeen Olusi and Emeritus Prof. (Mrs) Bolanle Awe.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is the chief host.
“This event, which will take place on Thursday, 23rd September, 2021, at the Banquet Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, is dedicated to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @69, in appreciation of his longstanding contribution to the progress and development of Yoruba land,” Awa added.Â
