The Ajumose Coalition Movement (ACM), a socio- political organisation with over 160 associations domiciled in Oyo state, has called on people of the state to continue pray for and support the administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi, in its efforts to lay a solid economic base for the state.
In doing this especially at this period of economic recession which the nation is going through that are not peculiar only to Oyo state but all the states of the federation, so the concerted efforts of everybody in the state are needed to achieve this goal.
In a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday, the Cordinator of the group, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, said no developed nation in the world reached their present status today without the support and efforts of its citizens.
He therefore enjoined people of the state to continue giving their moral, civic and spiritual support to the state government.
Olatunbosun enjoined those affected by the massive road construction projects going on across the state to bear with the government, stating that the discomfort they bear today will bring comfort when the projects are completed.
The projects cover Eleyele/Ologuneru/Eruwa , dualisation of Agodi-gate/old Ife-alakia/Agodi-gate to iwo road as well as dualisation of Idi ape/Akobo/ Olorunda- aba to Barack as well as Shaki/ Ibaruba roads.
According to him, “As road infrastructure is a key factor that attracts both local and foreign investors to any state or nation, it behoves on us therefore that, if we want an independent economic state, efforts of the governor needs to be commended as this shows him as a visionary leader and ‘first among equals ‘.
“Since, those who served before Ajimobi, especially the eight-year rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with all the resources in their disposal could not do it, eulogising Ajimobi for taking the bull by the horn during an economic recession is not out of place” Olatubosun added.
The ACM therefore called on people of the state to continue showing understanding to the present All Progressives Congress led administration in the state by continue supporting it with prayers.
