Gunmen have abducted three workers of a quarry site in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was gathered that victims are employees of Megabolex quarry site, Idi Ayunre, located along the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, in Oluyole Local Government Area.
The victims were abducted by the gunmen around 4:30pm on Tuesday as they were coming out of the site.
One of the workers, Tope Solomon, who escaped being kidnapped by whiskers, reported the incident at Idi Ayunre police station.
Confirming the incident, the Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi, gave the names of the abducted workers as Ubong Jacob, Amisu Isaac and Wasiu.
He said police is collaborating with local hunters to ensure the release of the victims.
Fadeyi noted that the abducted workers were taken to an unknown destination by their captors.
“They were abducted on Tuesday. Despite our efforts, these criminals are still going behind to kidnap people.
“The police are collaborating with local hunters to ensure the release of the victims.
“Efforts are on to arrest the suspects. We have intesified efforts,” Fadeyi said.
The abduction of the. workers is coming less than two weeks after the abduction of three farmers in the same local government area.
