Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Bashir Ahmed, an aide of Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna central in the National Assembly.
The senator, in a Facebook post, said Ahmed was kidnapped in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna state on Friday, December 8, with witnesses stating that the kidnappers mistreated Ahmad before carting him off to an undisclosed location.
Sani alleged that before the incident, Ahmad had received reports from neighbors who hinted him that some armed men came looking for him at his residence.
With the obvious threat to his life, he reported the issue to the police, but was still kidnapped, according to the senator.
Sani said security agencies have been alerted and expressed hope that his aide would be rescued.
“We have alerted the relevant security agencies and will continue to put all efforts until we secure his freedom,” he said.
“We will put him in prayers and will one hundred percent stand by him through his travail until he returns home insha Allah.”
