A Libyan Afriqiyah Airways plane is reportedly in a hijack situation. The plane has landed in Luqa airport in Malta.
Airport authorities say there appears to be two hijackers on board the plane which has 118 people on board.
State TV says the two hijackers on the plane have hand grenades and are threatening to blow up aircraft
The flight to Tripoli from Sabha, Libya, was diverted to Malta after a passenger demanded to be flown to the tiny Mediterranean island, a Malta government spokesman said.
Maltese government has dispatched emergency teams to the site.
