Houston Megachurch pastor and motivational Christian speaker Joel Osteen, has come under fire for not opening his church doors to flood victims in the city.

According to Bossip.com, the location for Osteen’s Lakewood Church was once upon a time the Compaq Center sports arena — home of the Houston Rockets — and can comfortably seat nearly 17,000 people. But, now that thousands in the city are in distress, displaced, and in need of a safe dry spot to go…the church’s doors are locked.

TMZ however reports that Osteen has explained that the church is not open for those of the flooding of the roads in the area.

But social media users lampooned the excuse.
