The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran on Saturday said the state government will resuscitate grants to public schools to improve the standard of education in the state.
Adeniran stated this while featuring on a live programme on Lagelu FM, Ibadan.
The chairman noted that the grants would be used to provide facilities in the schools in order to ensure that Oyo State reclaims its status as the pacesetter when it comes to education in the country.
He also reiterated that education is one of the cardinal points of the present government under Governor Seyi Makinde, adding that the government has declared free education in all public primary on Secondary Schools in the state.
He warned schools, head teachers and principals to desist from collecting illegal fees from pupils in the state.
