Babatunde Abiola Fatai, a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH), has told police how he dates white women via the internet and use their bank accounts for fraudulent activities.
Fatai was paraded by the Oyo State Police Command on Friday.
The Oyo Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, said the suspect, who had once been arrested and arraigned for robbery, but was later released on bail, was in the act of hacking into the accounts of his victims in Nigeria and abroad, and transferring their monies into his own account.
Fatai however said that his victims were mainly foreigners. “I only defraud people outside Nigeria. I use the account of a white lady whom I must have dated for some time to transfer the money into my account in Nigeria”, he said.
Ajisebutu told journalists that Fatai was arrested by men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad in Oyo, following a tip off.
He added that various kinds of posh cars were recovered from him.
He explained that police were on the trial of the suspect’s gang members who it was learnt were residing in Osun and Kwara States but are currently on the run.
