Paris Saint German (PSG) striker, Kylian Mbappe, has debunked the transfer reports making the rounds in the last few days, saying he never asked to leave club in January.
Mbappe stated this while speaking with newsmen, after the Parisians Ligue 1 match against Olympique Marseille, on Sunday.
According to the player, the news is false and he did not submit any transfer request to the club.
“I am very happy, I never asked to leave in January. The info came out on the day of the match ( against Benfica), I am sure not even remotely involved in this news. I was just as shocked as everyone else. People may think I’m involved but I’m not involved at all, I was taking a nap.
“My entourage was at my little brother’s game, all the people who take care of me weren’t there, so we were flabbergasted when we found out. Afterwards, we had to deal with it, there was a game to play. Just to say it’s completely wrong and I’m very happy,” he said.
The youngster signed a contract extension with PSG during the summer transfer window of 2021, which will keep him at the club until 2023.
