The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had said that the Ibarapa East state constituency bye-election that held on Saturday in Oyo State wS peaceful.
The candidate of the PDP, Adebo Ogundoyin, is in the lead and may be declared winner according to results gathered so far.
The election which in 140 polling units is to fill the vacancy left by late Speajer, Michael Adeyemo, who died in April.

Olukunle Adeyemo, the late speaker’s brother, is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election.
A tweet by INEC reads: “The exercise has been adjudged peaceful as there was no reported cases of any violence recorded from any quarter during the exercise,”
The commission shared photos of its officials and commissioners who monitored the election. They include the National Commissioner representing Oyo, Osun & Ekiti States, Prince Adedeji Soyebi, the Host REC, Barr Mutiu Agboke and REC Edo State.
