Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has said that some persons were profiting from the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria’s north east.
He described the humanitarian crisis as a full scale business for those he described as entrepreneurs and merchants of crisis.
In a tweet on Saturday, the senator regretted that the plight of internally displaced persons in the Boko Haram ravaged region have become a money spinner for some persons.
His words: “The humanitarian crisis in the north east of Nigeria is simply a full scale business.Billions pumped in by local and foreign governments and aid agencies and yet woes of the IDPs continues. The IDPs are ATMs for entrepreneurs & merchants of crisis.Profiteering from plight”
