The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) has introduced One Skill Retake for test takers in Nigeria.
The new feature is designed to help test takers get their desired test score without retaking the full test.
A notice on the examination body’s website said the new feature is to assist test takers improve their score on one test skill, adding that any of the four IELTS skills – Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking can be retaken.
According to the notice, if a test taker didn’t do well in the first test, One Skill Retake gives the test taker a second chance to show his or her English Language level and improve his or her score in one section without having to retake the full test.
“IELTS One Skill Retake follows the same format and timing as the regular IELTS test.
“You will receive a new IELTS Test Report Form with your IELTS One Skill Retake score. It also includes the scores from your original test and an overall CEFR score.
“There will be no change to your other scores from your original test. And once you’ve received your results, if you would prefer to use your original score, you can,” it added
Conditions to book IELTS One Skill Retake
Test takers can book the One Skill Retake through the portal if they have recently completed a full IELTS on computer test.
Test takers must also have received results from a test centre that offers IELTS One Skill Retake.
Test takers can only retake one skill once per original test, and must sit the One Skill Retake within 60 days of the original test.
IELTS One Skill Retake is available in 43 countries, including Nigeria.
