Senator for Imo North Senatorial district, Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu resumed work at the red chambers of the National Assembly on Tuesday, after his inauguration last week as the only, All Progressive Congress (APC), senator of southeast extraction in the 8th senate.
The newly inaugurated Senator met with Igbo interest groups, cooperate bodies, constituents, relatives, friends and staff of the National Assembly who came to inspect his office. No official statements were issued concerning the meetings.
The senator, who is the former speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly arrived the National Assembly Premises early to attend plenary, and as well, participate and contribute to debates on bills presented to the senate.
The bills which include, 1. Chattered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria (Establishment,etc.) Bill. 2016 ( HB.28).2. Petroleum Training Institute Act CAP P16 LFN 2004 (Amendment) Bill 2016 (HB.251) by Senate Leader. 3. Advance Fee Fraud and other related Offences Act NO. 14 of 2006 (Amendment) Bill 2016 (HB. 287). By Senate Leader.4. Value Added Tax Act CAP V1 LFN 2004 ( Amendment) Bill 2016 (HB. 293) by Senate Leader.
As well as, the Veterinary Surgeons Act CAP V3 LFN 2004 (Amendment) Bill 2016 (HB. 294) by Senate Leader, were all read for the first time.
Commenting on some of the bills that bothers on capacity building and job creation, Senator Uwajumogu urged relevant authorities to always engage the services of dedicated experts who are in tune with the agenda of the change administration, in the management of Job and wealth- creating agencies of the Federal Government to boost the administrations effort towards reducing unemployment and poverty in the country.
He also expressed confidence that, with research, good planing, patience and support of all Nigerians, the present administration would not only fulfil its promise on wealth creation, job creation and reduction of poverty, but will also lay a solid foundation that will lead Nigeria to greatness.
