Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has announced two deaths from coronavirus in the state.
Abayomi, who broke the news via a Twitter post on Tuesday, said the deceased- a male and a female, were aged 45 and 36 respectively.
He said one of the victims, the female, had a serious underlying health issue and had no travel history or contact with any coronavirus case.
The number of deaths from coronavirua in the state now stands at 16.
Since the state did not record a new case on Monday, the total confirmed cases are still 379, while 98 patients have recovered from the infection.
“No new case of COVID–19 was confirmed in Lag0s on 20th April, 2020.
“However, #COVID19 related deaths were recorded in Lagos. One of the deceased was a 45 years old Nigerian; a male who returned from India in January, 2020.
“The second death involved a 36-year-old Nigerian; female with a severe underlying health condition. She had no history of travel or contact with any #COVID19 confirmed case.
“Total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos now stands at 16
