Members of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) have welcomed the scheme operated by the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA).

The industrialists showed their commitment at a meeting with the Management of OYSHIA in Ibadan, the state capital. The OYSHIA team was led by Executive Secretary Dr Sola Akande.

The industrialists were educated on how the scheme works and its multiple benefits.
Expressing enthusiasm about the health insurance scheme, the chairman of the association, Elder S. A. Bolaji, said his members were ready to subscribe to the scheme along with their staff given its great benefits. He said the rates offered by OYSHIA are affordable for all classes of workers, pointing out that it makes healthcare cheaper for both employers and employees.

The industrialists are the latest group embracing the OYSHIA scheme. Market traders, civil servants and some communities had earlier embraced the scheme, making healthcare funding convenient for their members.

OYSHIA scheme has four plans – Standard, Family, Standard Peak & Students. The Standard plan, which costs N8,000 per annum, is the most popular.
