The Association of Mogajis’ in Ibadan land has commended the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin; former governor of Oyo State, Sen Rashidi Ladoja; and APC House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Hon Dapo Lam-Adesina, for donating motocycles and cash toward the fight against insecurity in Ibadan land.
Recall that Folarin had last Saturday donated five motocycles worth over N2 million to the Ibadan Compund Peace Initiative during a meeting with thre Mogajis’ at Mapo hall, Ibadan.
Folarin, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Content, enumerated his manifesto to the Mogajis’ during the meeting.
A statement jointly signed by the President, Association of Ibadan Mogajis’, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori and Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, said it is imperative to thank Folarin for his efforts towards curbing insecurity in Ibadan land.
They added that their decision was not politically motivated.
“He donated five new motocycles worth N2 million to aide the work of volunteer groups in maintaining security in Ibadan land.
“We also thank former governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, for his efforts, including his donation of N1 million towards curbing security in the land.
“We thank Dapo Lam-Adesina for donating one motocycle, as part of his efforts towards ensuring peace and security in Ibadan land,” the Mogajis’ said.
They said that the donated items will assist the volunteers to discharge their duties without hitches.
The Compound Peace Initiative aims to end hooligalism among youths and forestall breakdown of peace and security in Ibadan land.
