The UN Security Council has passed a resolution urging Israel to stop all settlement activities. The resolution orders the country to immediately & completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory.
New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal introduced the resolution to the UNSC on Friday. It was a day after Egypt withdrew reportedly under pressure from Israel and US President-elect Donald Trump.
Earlier, Trump and Israeli authorities also called on the US to veto the resolution but the US refused to use its veto. It was the only nation to abstain from voting.
