A jet rammed into a fence at the General Aviation Terminal of the Lagos Airport on Friday.
It was gathered that brake failure caused the private charter airline, King Air Jet, to ram into a fence while the pilot was re-parking it.
The jet had no passenger on board with the pilot suffering no injury.
“The accident happened around 10:00am at a tarmac beside Bristow Helicopter Hanger 3.
“The brake of the jet was not functioning which led to the collision of the jet with the fence of Bristow Helicopter hanger,” an eyewitness said.
The King Air 200 jet with registration number 5N-HIS is being operated by Mobil Oil Nigeria-Wings Aviation
Meanwhile, the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has commenced an investigation into the accident.
A spokesman for the AIB, Tunji Oketumbi, disclosed this to newsmen in Lagos.
Oketumbi said the Bureau had sent its investigators to access the level of damage.
“We have been notified of an accident that occurred at the local airport and our investigators have gone there to commence investigations,” he said.
