England coach Gareth Southgate has dropped goalkeeper Joe Hart from the squad going to Russia for the 2018 World Cup.
Southgate gave the news to the 31-year-old West Ham goalkeeper on Monday.
Reports say Hart, who has 75 caps for the Three Lions, was hoping to mKe the team as a third choice behind Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland. But Burnley’s Nick Pope was chosen as the team’s third keeper.
Southgate had previously decided to make Hart part of his 23-man World Cup squad but the goalkeeper lost his place at West Ham at the end of the season, forcing the coach to review his decision.
