The lawmaker representing Odo-Otin state constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun has emerged as the Speaker of the assembly.
Egbedun, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was elected after being nominated by Ibrahim Abiola, representing Irewole/Isokan state constituency and seconded by Areoye Samuel at the inaugural sitting of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday.
Also, Akinyode Oyewusi from Ife North state constituency was elected as the deputy speaker.
The clerk of the house, Simeon Amusan, who presided over the inaugural sitting administered the oath of office on both of them.
The inaugural sitting was attended by the governor of the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi and other top government functionaries.
