The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Adekunle Salawudeen, has passed away.
The monarch’s death occurred on Sunday.
Oba Salawudeen is the the fourth senior traditional ruler in Oyo State that have joined their ancestors in the last eight months.
Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi died in December 2021, followed by the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who, joined their ancestors, in January and April 2022, respectively.
Oba Salawudeen was a trained veterinary doctor, and ascended the throne in 2007.
The 62-year-old monarch reportedly died at University College Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for months.
Iseyin is an ancient Yoruba town in northern party or Oyo State, about 91 km to the state capital, Ibadan.
