A Benue State High Court has granted an interim order restraining Dr Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman.
A PDP chieftain from Benue State, Terhide Utaan, filed a suit seeking an order restraining Ayu from parading himself as national chairman of the party following his suspension on Sunday.

Recall that Ayu was on Sunday suspended by PDP Executive in his Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area, Benue State, for anti-party activities, following the loss of the party’s candidate in the February 25 presidential election.
However, in a statement issued by his media aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, on Monday, Ayu argued that executive committee of the party at the Ward or State level lacked the power to take any disciplinary measure against any member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Ruling on the ex parte motion brought by Utaan on Monday, Justice W.I.Kpochi ordered Ayu to stop parading himself as PDP national chairman, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
The judge subsequently adjourned hearing of the suit to April 17.
