The former Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Doyin Okupe, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recall that Okupe was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, on Thursday morning.
He was subsequently handed to EFCC by the DSS.
Okupe, in a post on his Twitter handle said he has been released by the EFCC, adding that senior officials of the anti-graft agency “apologised” to him for “the error.”
“I was arrested and detained @ the MMIA, Lagos this morning 12th Jan on my way to UK for medicals; years after my passport being withheld by the FHC Abuja.
“I just left the EFCC office where Snr Officers in Lagos & Abuja apologised to me for the error.
“OCCUPATIONAL HAZZARD abi?” he wrote.
