The service of microblogging site, Twitter, is currently down in Nigeria and some parts of the world.
Several users could not access their accounts on Sunday afternoon.
Neither the Twitter app nor the website (both desktop and mobile) are currently working.
Checks by Newspeakonline indicated that when a user tries to access the mobile site, the notification that comes up is “Your connection is not private” or “This connection is not private” or “This site can’t be reached.”
On desktop, the notification “Something went wrong” is displayed.
While the Twitter App on Android phone is showing “The tweet has been deleted” or “Cannot retrieve tweet at this time.”
There is currently no information as to how widespread this issue is, although some are saying it is a worldwide outage. Also, there is no details on how much time will it take for the company to fix the problem as there is no statement from the social media company confirming the outage.
