Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said the reason some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are clamouring for Sen Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman’s resignation, was for inclusivity, political expediency and for the opposition party to win next year’s presidential election.
Speaking at a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike said the party must do the right thing and show Nigerians that it was ready to be trusted with power.
“We are saying Ayu must go for inclusivity, political expediency and for PDP to win election.
“We have given them the presidency to the North, we are saying give the South the chairmanship. We say we are not fighting again, we have accepted our fate and we must move on.
“But we are saying we must do the right thing and show Nigerians this is where we are coming to and you are being arrogant about it,” he said.
