Kolapo Kola-Daisi has offered his condolences to the family of the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, following the announcement of his demise on Sunday.
In a statement made available through his official communications channels, the frontline senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo South Senatorial District described the late monarch as a peaceful King whose reign will be greatly missed statewide.
“I deeply commiserate with my people of Oyo State, the Oyo State Council of Obas, the immediate family and especially sons and daughters of Ogbomoso land, on the demise of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III.
“My days as a student at the Federal Government College, Ogbomoso, gave me a firsthand feel of Soun’s peaceful and colourful reign. He was firstclass by reign and by nature and the entire Yoruba land and the nation will miss him.
“May his legacies remain celebrated and may Almighty Allah will grant repose to his soul,” he said.
Oba Oyewumi, who ascended the throne in 1973, passed on in the early hours of Sunday.
