The people of Ibadanland and indeed the world would on Friday, March 4, 2016, watch the reputation of the new Olubadan designate, High Chief Saliu Adetunji, glow as a successful music producer/promoter as up to 42 musicians have signed up to perform at the coronation ceremony that day.
The musicians are drawn from major Yoruba music genres such as Juju, Fuji, Apala and high life.
Some of the musicians include Evangelist Ebenezer Fabiyi (Obey), King Wasiu Ayinde (K-1), Wasiu Alabi (Pasuma) and Suleiman Alao (Malaika).
High Chief Adetunji is a music producer and promoter on record label Omo Aje Sound Studio and King Wasiu Ayinde is a major artiste on Omo Aje Sound Studio label.
It was gathered that the musicians are likely to perform from Friday and the entire Saturday when the new monarch is scheduled to entertain guests.
The Popoyemoja, Ibadan residence of the Olubadan designate has become a beehive of activities – construction works, visitations, daily slaughtering of cows to feed guests, music, dancing and a whole lot.
The late Olubadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1, joined his ancestors on January 19, and High Chief Adetunji will be crowned as the 41st Olubadan on Friday.
