The Legislative Council of Ejigbo LCDA, Lagos has given the Divisional Police Officer, Ejigbo, DSP Olabisi Okuwobi, an award for her excellent performance in offering security to lives and property in the LCDA.
While presenting the award to Okuwobi on Wednesday at the Council Chamber, the Legislative Head of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Olanrewaju Akinbowale, commended Okuwobi for her responsiveness, commitment and success in preventing and combating criminal activities across the division. Through her excellent performance, Hon. Olanrewaju Akinbowale, said Okuwobi makes the job of political and community leaders in the entire area much easier.
He said Okuwobi has confirmed the common saying that a woman can do better what a man can do. He cited examples of situations when he had causes to call her on telephone in the night to attend to security breaches, pointing out that her men always got to the incident scene within minutes of alerting her.
Since she became the substantive DPO two years ago, the lawmaker said Okuwobi has redefined policing in the area, surprising many with her stellar performance, even as a woman.
As a mark of acknowledgment and appreciation, the lawmaker presented an award of excellence to the DPO on behalf of his colleagues.
Responding, Okuwobi appreciated the lawmakers. She assured stakeholders in the community of always doing her best for the safety of lives and property within her division. She also called for cooperation with the police, particularly in the area of supplying information and ensuring that residents do not habour criminals.
Okuwobi was a Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State.
