A BRT bus belonging to the Lagos State Government, with identification number 240216, travelling from Mile 2 Terminal to Lagos Island, was attacked by suspected hoodlums in broad daylight.
The incident occurred around Alaba Suru area of the state, with passengers robbed of their belongings.
A viral video of the incident showed that the window glasses of the bus were shattered by the hoodlums.
Reacting, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos State Governor, Jubril Gawat, in a post on his X account, disclosed that the State Task Force, led by CSP Tayo Akerele, has deployed security officers to BRT routes across the state, starting from the Alaba Suru area where the attack occurred.
“Update: Lagos State TaskForce led by CSP Tayo Akerele has deployed security officers on BRT routes across the State starting from the Alaba Suru area where a BRT was attacked by some suspected hoodlums recently,” he wrote.
