The case of a female lawyer, Yewande Oyediran, who is being tried for allegedly killing her husband, Lowo Oyediran, in Ibadan resumed on Tuesday with the landlord of the house where the crime was committed appearing as a witness.
The landlord, Chief Akinpelu Adelodun, told Justice Muktar Abimbola at Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan that Yewande stabbed her husband during an argument.
Chief Adelodun said he was at the apartment of the couple when the argument became ugly and that he made an attempt to calm them down. He said Yewande insisted that she would injure her husband.
According to him, the argument continued till about 3am and that at a point, Yewande became calm.
He said he was, however, surprised to hear a noise around 6am same day.
Earlier, Adelodun said a cheque issued in his name as transport fare to appear in court should be returned.
The landlord was alleged to have requested for transport fare before he would appear in court, but he denied the allegation, saying that he did not instruct anyone to make the demand on his behalf.
