The lawmker representing Chikun State Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Madami Garba Madami, is dead.
Madami, who was elected on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, died at the hospital where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment on Saturday, three days after the inauguration of the House of Assembly.
The 10th Assembly was inaugurated on June 13, 2023, but the late lawmaker could not attend the inauguration as a result of the ailment.
A traditional title holder from his constituency in Chikun, Ibrahim Sale, the Ardo Ardodin, confirmed Madami’s death.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, has expressed shock over the death of the lawmaker.
While commiserating with the late lawmaker’s immediate family and Chikun constituency, Sani said that the deceased was known for promoting peaceful coexistence and was greatly respected.
The governor prayed that, “God grant the soul of Madami eternal rest and comfort his family, associates, friends, and constituents he left behind.”
Madami represented Chikun State Constituency in the Kaduna House of Assembly; served as Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area, Commissioner of Planning and Budget and Special Adviser on Political Matters to Late Governor Patrick Yakowa before his death.
