For Oyeyemisi Olusola, and Oluwatosin Segun Alade, Saturday, January 22, was a day to solemnly seal their pledges of love for each other and begin life as husband and wife.
Olusola, daughter to renowned educationist and National Coordinator, International Academy for the Gifted, Mr. Oyebola Fabowale; is a Mass Communicator while the groom, Oluwatosin is a graduate of Business Administration.
The young couple tied the nuptial knots at a traditional engagement and wedding ceremony witnessed by friends and relations.
Venue was Holy Trinity College Hall, beside Prudent Filling Station, Ijaye, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
A prayer by Pastor Olawale Salami opened the floor for prayers and the modest but colorful ceremony to begin. This was followed by customary introductions of the two families, bestowal of blessings and joining of the couple in matrimony – all artfully anchored by witty and humorous comperes (Alagas) ordained to perform the functions. Pastor (Mrs.) Valentina Solarin pronounced the blessing on the wedding rings which Olusola and Oluwatosin exchanged beaming with joy.
Another highlight of the wedlock ceremony was the cutting of the wedding cake by the two elated lovebirds supervised by the comperes.
Dignitaries including former Chief Executive Officer, National Mathematical Centre and ex-President, African Mathematical Union,  Professor Adewale Rowland Solarin, his wife and UNCEF Officer, Pastor (Mrs.) Valentina; Chairperson of Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Agboyi Ketu Chapter, Lagos, Mrs Ekundayo Sotade; a player in the construction industry, Engr. Oyewole Fabowale; a top executive of AIICO Insurance, Mr Festus Olabiyi, former principal, Onitolo Senior High School, Surulere, Lagos, Mrs. Olubusola Odubawo, and other guests from the groom’s family counseled the newly married couple on secrets to achieving a blissful marriage and prayed for their bond to last.
Guests were treated to delightful music and a sumptuous feast at a lavish reception that followed.
