The governorship candidates of major opposition parties in Oyo state on Friday had a meeting at the Ibadan residence of the Action Democratic Party(ADP) governorship candidate and former governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Other governorship candidates at the meeting were Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin of the African Democratic Congress(ADC) and Chief Sharafa Alli of the Zenith Labour Party(ZLP).
However, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Engr. Seyi Makinde, was absent at the meeting.
Newspeakonline learnt that the meeting agreed to set up committees to look into modalities of forging an alliance ahead of the governorship election in the state.
It is understood that they all resolved to support the party that performs better in the February 23, National Assembly election.
