Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Monday approved the appointment of Prince Dotun Oyelade as the Executive Chairman of Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa said the appointment is with immediate effect.
Prince Oyelade, is a seasoned journalist and a reputable broadcaster who had held similar positions in previous administrations and was the spokesperson of Omititun Campaign Organisation during the electioneering campaign.
The statement further stated that the governor appointed Oyelade in order to reposition the station to meet modern communication needs of the state in the new dispensation.
Oyelade worked at NTA Ibadan between 1977-82 before joining BCOS as Head of Reportorial before he voluntarily left in 1988 as acting controller of news.
He also worked as General Manager of Fountain Publications and Marketing Manager Spectrum Books between 1988 and 1992 before setting up his own Communications and Publishing business.
As an author, he has nine publications to his name.
He is a member of the International Press Institute, Geneva, Switzerland.
He was Private Secretary to former Governor Lam Adesina from1999 to 2003 and Special Adviser on Public Communications to Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala between 2007 and 2011.
Makinde expressed confidence in the ability of Prince Oyelade to bring his wealth of experience to bear in turning the fortunes of BCOS around within the shortest time in order to make the corporation one of the best media outfits in the country.
