Makinde signs bill slashing Oyo 2019 budget by N103bn, allocates 10% to education

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has signed the reviewed 2019 Oyo State Appropriation Bill into law.

Makinde signed the bill on Wednesday at the Executive Chamber of tbe Governor’s office, in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin and the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun

The bill revised the N285 billion 2019 budget signed by immediate past governor, Abiola Ajimobi, to N182bn.

Makinde had described the N285 billion budget as unrealistc considering the financial stand of the state.

The revsed budget saw an upward review of the budget on Education to 10% of the revised budget.
