Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal, have been received their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The duo collected their certificates of return at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, on Wednesday.
Recall that the governor was re-elected for a second term in the March 18 governorship election.
The 32 members-elect of state’s House of Assembly also received their certificates of return.
Speaking, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Dr Adeniran Tella, appreciated the stakeholders for the success of the recently held elections.
Tella said the use of technology in the 2023 elections added value to the electoral process, calling on the political class to assist the commission in conducting a better exercise in future elections.
Also, the INEC National Commissioner for Oyo, Lagos, and Ekiti States, Mr Sam Olumekun, explained that the preparation for the 2023 elections commenced immediately after the 2019 polls, adding that it contributed to its success.
