The Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Disability Matters, Barrister Ayodele Adekanmbi, has promised to enroll 100 persons living with disabilities into the state’s health insurance scheme.
Adekanmbi disclosed this via a SMS sent to Mayor Isaac Brown, the anchor of South West Political Circuit, a programme on Ibadan-based radio station, Fresh 105.9FM, on Saturday.
Adekanmbi’s message came immediately after the Executive Secretary of Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), Dr. Sola Akande, appealed to well meaning Nigerians to adopt vulnerable people in the society into the health insurance scheme.
“We call this plan adoption model and the intention is for well meaning Nigerians to remember the poor in the society. That is why we say adopt a life,” he said.
The OYSHIA boss also appealed to House of Assembly members in the state to key into the adoption model, saying the best empowerment they can give to people is to secure their health.
