Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has been named Premier League manager for the month of September.
Premier League made the announcement on Friday.
The Dutchman beat fellow top-flight managers, Antonio Conte of Tottenham Hotspur and Gary O’Neil of Bournemouth to the prize, after guiding the Reds to victories over Leicester and Arsenal.
Ten Hag became only the second United manager to have won the accolade since the Sir Alex Ferguson era, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being named Manager of the Month in February 2019.
Ten Hag’s victory makes it a Reds double, with Mancheater United forward, Marcus Rashford winning the player of the month award.
This is only the second time Manchester United staff will win both accolades in the same month, with Rashford also scooping the award alongside Solskjaer three years ago.
Ten Hag became the second Dutch manager to win the coveted title since Ronald Koeman did so with Southampton in 2016.
One of the team’s two victories in September was against an in-form Arsenal side.
