Barrister Adebayo Shittu from Oyo State and Khadijah Bukar Abba Ibrahim from Yobe State were the only ministerial nominees screened by the senate today.
But senate adjourned till Wednesday, October 21, without screening the third on the list, Omoleye Daramola.
Speculations are that the senate was deliberately stalling on the screening to see how the Code of Conduct Tribunal case of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
But senators have explained that there was no motion on the floor of the house to extend the time to senate was supposed to sit.
Minority leader, Godswill akpabio explained that another factor that determines whether a candidate listed will be screened or not is that he or she must have fulfilled all the constitutional requirements.
Senator Stella Oduah told AIT that Daramola was called upon but he was not ready in terms of fulfilling the requirements.
The senate adjourned proceedings till Wednesday, October 21, same day Saraki’s CCT case will come up.
