Senatorial election results from Ekiti State shows that the Senate Minority Leader, Biodun Olujimi has lost her bid to return to the Senate to represent Ekiti South Senatorial District. She has been defeated by APC candidate, Dayo Adeyeye.
Ekiti South
According to results declared by the Returning Officer for Ekiti South senatorial district, Laide Lawal, Adeyeye polled 77, 621 to defeat Mrs Olujimi who scored 53, 741.
Adeyeye who used to be in PDP, defected to the APC shortly before the 2018 governorship election, following the controversial PDP governorship primaries.
Ekiti Central
Opeyemi Bamidele of the APC and a former member of the House of Representatives was declared winner of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, defeating the PDP counterpart, Obademi Adewale.
While Mr Bamidele scored a total of 94,279, Mr Adewale polled a total of 48,707.votes.
Ekiti North
APC candidate for Ekiti North, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi has been been declared winner of the election in the district.
The electoral commission returning officer Professor Fasina Abayomi Sunday who announced the results declared Adetunmbi as winner with 60,689 votes to beat his closest rival Senator Duro Faseyi of People’s Democratic Party, who got 49,209 votes.
