Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was reportedly attacked by an angry group of Nigerians in Madrid, Spain.
The reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained but the former Rivers State governor disclosed on his Twitter handle on Friday afternoon that the attack happened at a Climate Change event he was attending in the Spanish capital.
He tweeted: “Some minutes ago, I was attacked by a few misguided Nigerians while on national assignment at a climate change event in Madrid, Spain. They were quickly repelled by the Spanish police before they could do any harm. I am fine. I was not hurt. Thanks for your support & prayers.”
The attack comes months after a similar one was launched against former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, in Germany.
