The Peoples Democratic Party has adopted Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon. Yakubu Dogara as its candidate for the position of Senate President and Speaker of House of Representatives.
The 8th National Assembly due to be constituted today will choose its leaders in few hours time.
The PDP in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, in Abuja on Tuesday morning at 1:50am, therefore urged its senators and reps to act accordingly by voting for these two men.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had on Saturday nominated Senator Ahmed Lawan for the office of the Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker.
Recall that the then opposition party had refused to vote Mrs. Mulikat Akande for the Speaker in the last House of Representatives but joined angry members of the PDP to rally support for Aminu Tambuwal, who eventually became the Speaker.
Tambuwal later defected to the APC where he contested and won as the Governor of Sokoto State.
